Up North Weekend

The northern part of Cebu province is one of the places I have rarely been to. Except for the short stopover on the way to Bacolod and a weekend at Bantayan some years back, I have not been back. So for the long weekend that was, my boyfriend and I decided to go "up north" in the now-municipality of Bogo. The place also holds a special place in my heart because that's where one of my dear college friend, Leslie, resides. The weekend trip consisted only of walks around town, todo chika with Leslie and a pasta lunch from an Italian chef!

Day 1

Walking around the town plaza. They had a display of an old railcar, which used to transport sugarcanes. Sugarcanes also abound in Bogo.

Behind me is a painting of Capitancillo, an island off Bogo, by a local artist, which I believe is the father-in-law of one of my college classmates.

Day 2





I'm rocking a thrifted leather jacket, lace top bought at an online shop, cut-off Mango shorts and vintage braided belt with my favorite accessory, a vintage Pentax MV-1 film camera.

Dashing to the Buffet

Today was a holiday to celebrate our country's heroes. It was a non-working holiday. But, of course, I was working. I could have stopped but I am back to school tomorrow after a week-long vacation for our school's founder's day. Before I get back to sleepless nights and tiring days, my sister, her bestfriend, my boyfriend and I ate out to.. a buffet. I was dashing/rushing from home to the mall where we were meeting and I was soo hungry that we only remembered to take out the camera while we were already chilling for dessert. :P Oh well..

Before going home, we walked around the mall for a while to visit our favorite shops. Promod and Mango are not really my favorite shops but I loved their window displays today -- featuring leather jackets and monochromatic/subdued colors.

I'm wearing dress bought at an online thrift store | slippers | thrifted bag | and busog stomach. :P

I did not think she's the most beautiful candidate the Philippines has chosen for the Miss Universe, but when she started fighting to regain the crown, I can only admire her. I always admire women who gives what it takes to make their dreams come true. (in good ways, of course)

September Issue

I know fashion magazines make strong non-fashion-related statements. But for someone like me, who is always stubborn to believe that fashion should always just be beautiful, I find these pictures (from the Italian Vogue September issue) disturbing because I don't find them beautiful. Did Italian Vogue do this to ride on the oil spill controversy? What do you think?
