I am not a complainer. I notice problems, and try my best to resolve, first, by myself. But if the problems are floods and drainage systems, I will complain. But it is not that I will not appreciate the good things a person has done. I may have complained that the city's drainage system sucks (and I am not the only one), I appreciate the fact that the city has renovated and cleaned up Plaza Independencia (or Plaza Romansa, according to my boyfriend, so cheesy). The Plaza is the first thing you'd see after getting off the boat from neighboring islands. And I have always found it dirty and messy. But now the plaza's clean and bright, and I love it! :)

What I'm wearing:
Top - vintage
Shorts - sister's
Bag - sister's
Earrings - DIY, how here, just replace with gray tassel
Sunnies - garage sale find

Are you a Facebook games addict? Are you a Sims addict? If your answer to both questions is a resounding "YES," the you are probably already playing, or is currently playing The Sims Social. :D bwahaha, gotcha.

My outfit for Saturday may seem familiar.. That's because, if you paid attention to The Sims Social, the default outfit of the female character is wearing the same color scheme: striped black and white top, red skirt, and black belt. :P

What I'm wearing:

top - thrifted
shorts - Lee
belt - dept. store(?), already too old
Lipstick - Estee Lauder PureColor # 182 (Pinkberry)

P.S. The sunglasses I'm wearing at the bottom pictures were the ones I bought at the garage sale at the Swiss consulate. The orange-rimmed one was for P50, and the tortoise-colored for P40. Viva vintage! Viva garage sales! :P

How's the start of your long weekend? Mine is almost ending. Boo, and I still have many things to do and projects to start. (!excited!) I hope all of you are doing good and enjoying the weekend despite Mina (in the Philippines) and Irene (in the East Coast). It was pretty sunny here in Cebu, and was a good time to thrift shop, and visit a garage sale at the Swiss Consulate in Gorordo Ave., where I snagged vintage sunglasses. (I'll show them to you tomorrow). If you're in Cebu, visit the garage sale. They have lots of shoes/bags/dresses of popular brands.

I wore this outfit yesterday:

Dress - vintage, also worn here
Jacket - thrifted
Slippers - Islander
Bag - gift
Necklace - DIY, how to here
Lipstick - Revlon Renewist #115 (Rose Restored)
Arm party - sister's watch & gift bracelet

Today, I wore:

Blazer - thrifted
Shirt - thrifted
Shorts - sister's
Bag - thrifted
Sandals - from garage sale
Earrings - DIY

This blazer I bought for P50 last month. Together with this blazer, I bought a pair of trousers and this pale pink top. I went out of that thrift shop happy like somebody who just won in a small-scale lottery. Today was rainy, with another storm in town. (Forgive my action in the 3rd photo, as usual I don't know what I'm doing.)

Wore a vintage dress I was saving to wear for a wedding this year. I wore the dress because the wedding has a different color theme. Or, I just wore it because I couldn't wait to wear it. I wore the dress with a pair of shoes my boyfriend bought for me in Baguio.

Dress - vintage
Belt - thrifted
Jacket - bossini ladies
shoes - thrifted

Yesterday, I wore an ube-inspired outfit. Ube is a popular root crop here in the Philippines, and is a favorite of many, especially when turned into ube halaya and topped in a halo-halo, or as a jam, cake or ice cream. Ube is not my favorite color, but I am loving this comfortable top I received from my aunt, and thought my pair of ube-colored pumps need to see the light, and I thought they matched! So I paired it with a vintage floral skirt, with ube-colored flowers.

Dear Cebu City Mayor, Hon. Michael Rama

Please have the city's drainage system fixed. I was getting ready to go out of the house this afternoon, dressed, made-up, and well-heeled, when heavy rains suddenly poured. I am going downtown and will have to walk a few blocks to get to my destination: a bank and a school. But I know that the streets connecting, and surrounding these places easily get flooded (knee-high even) and would be unnavigable. So I had to take off my high heels and opt for a pair of sandals I own that is the most "flood-appropriate." I am confident I would have looked more chica had I worn that pair of high heels, but I had to be lesser chica because the city's drainage system are not fixed.

The rain, and flooded streets, damage shoes. And, to us, women, shoes are precious. We would hate anyone who causes damage to our shoes. We cannot stop the rains, but we can stop the flooding of the streets -- with improved and proper drainage. (Of course, there are other ways to stop the flood, but I'm only asking for one thing).

If I am concerned over my shoes, my chicaness, and flooded streets; these are insignificant compared to the concerns of many others. Jeepneys and utility vehicles get damaged because they have no choice but to go sulong into the water to earn a living. The flower shop owners had to redo their flower arrangements. Stocks/goods get wet/damaged/washed away. People have to stop walking and waste their precious time, just to wait for the waters to subside.

So, dear Mr. Mayor, please have the city's drainage system fixed.

I'm in the mood for monochrome tonight. Most of the day today was raining hard, and I spent most of my day in bed, playing a mystery game in my laptop. Yes, I have my laptop back after 2 weeks. My laptop, an MSI X320 died, some Tuesdays ago while I was playing TextTwist. When I asked my boyfriend what could have been the reason why my laptop died, he said it was because I was pounding too hard on my laptop while playing texttwist. I don't know if he's correct, when it comes to gadgets and technology, you can tell me anything and I will believe. I sent my laptop to the MSI store in SM City Cebu where I bought it to see if they can repair it. And repair they did! They replaced my hard drive (too sad my case digests).

My laptop story is of course insignificant. But I'm relating it because I am too happy with MSI's services that I want to tell everyone about it. The clerks at the MSI store processed my application for repair in less than 5minutes, no waiting time, and told me to call within 2-3 weeks. I called a day after the second week and they told me my laptop's already ready for pick-up. The technician, whose name is Mark, replaced the hard drive, and installed an OS, applications, dictionary, encyclopedia, games, skype, google chrome and a software for lan in my laptop. I thought that was very considerate and thoughtful of him, because I use google chrome as my browser and skype for work. Very thoughtful.

So, thank you MSI-SM Cebu. I appreciate your services. I am one happy customer. I wish all stores/service providers are like you.

Re, the photos. They were taken in Tabuelan the other weekend. I wore this sheer vintage dress (also worn as a top here), vintage Lee shorts that I thrifted when we dropped by the public market in Balambam, and striped bandeau bikini top.

most days i am a "comfort" dresser, especially when i have many things to do, many places to go, and little time to do it. on a thursday, i wore this vintage top (which is a size too big for me, but very comfortable) and this vintage white shorts (which is also a size too big for me, but very comfortable) and this leather sandals i bought from a former work mate's garage sale and lugged around this hot pink bag my aunt gave me.
