It's Hot

Photobucket
Photobucket

I've been alive several summers already and I always note that Holy Week and the weeks after that until mid-May are the hottest. And then mid-May it will start to rain, and end of May will start the rainy season. So, it's very hot, it's summer after all.

I did not expect to be writing this this year or ever, but then things happen. For the first time in 26 years, I was not at home for Holy Week. I was in the city, doing Pinoy movie marathon with my cousins and eating home-made benignit and biko and drinking tsokolate till we fell asleep. So, I'm sharing some analog photos taken a year ago for Holy Week in Lazi.

Recycling

Photobucket
Photobucket

Since the start of summer, I have been cleaning out my closet and room and segregating clothes into three piles: stay, out, give away. I have donated a bag of clothes to Anthill Fabric Gallery for a ragdoll project of a women's group in Brgy. Cogon Pardo, Cebu City. I have stashed away some party clothes that have remained unworn to be given away, and sold some clothes that I know no one in the family can fit into.

If you feel you have "no more" clothes to wear and can only think of buying new clothes every time an occasion to dress up arises or if you feel you have been wearing the same old boring clothes since forever, clean up your closet and give away those clothes you (i) have not worn in a year, (ii) clothes that you feel ugly in, and (iii) clothes that are too ratty you feel and look like a rag when you wear them. Give them away, give them away.

With the remaining clothes in your closet, mix and match, and experiment. You'll have fun.

Freeing up your closet could equate to freeing up your mind.

Style Inspire: Summer Rain

I was happily resizing some scanned magazine pages, and thinking how happy this summer would be with the sunshiny sun when suddenly my work station and the world around me darkened and rain poured down heavy from the heavens. My gaasss, it's really true that this summer would not be as hot as it was the years before.

Anyhow, I'll just share these magazine pages from Lucky, Glamour, and Boho magazines.

Dumaguete, Day 2

Day 2 was Jollibee for breakfast (we are Pinoys), boyfriend's pasalubong shopping at his favorite Ana Maria, Siliman, buko pie at Daro, back to Sansrival for lunch, and back to Cebu.

Dinner in Dumaguete was at Cafe Antonio's, a cafe at the Spanish Heritage building. The cafe serves delicious and affordable food and some dessert and coffee. I love the place because it is not stuffy. And I love dinners out because it is a chance to dress up. (haayy.. what a vanity)

Dumaguete, Day 1

For Day 1 of our weekend trip to Dumaguete, we took an early bus ride down south, and arrived in Dumaguete at around 9AM, and lounged in the pension house watching The Ghost Writer, while my cousin and her boyfriend toured SuperLee Plaza. We had lunch at Sansrival, windowshopped, and took a jeepney to Valencia and a tricycle to Forest Camp. After Forest Camp, we had snacks at Robinson's and windowshopped again.

White and Blue

Every day now I wake up to very sunshiny mornings. Summer is finally, here. This outfit I'd wear everyday this summer (if I can). No-fuss, easy-breezy, and perfect for our country's hot weather. I've also been obsessed with the white and blue color combination (maybe because it resembles the sky, or the seashore).
