Pinterest

I have seen many people use Pinterest but never really thought of joining until I saw cute pictures from a friend in Facebook.  During night time these days, my room is cluttered with paper getting some scrapbook pages done, and I thought I could use some inspiration, especially color combinations and page layouts, not from actual scrapbook pages but from other sources, like weddings, floral arrangements, table settings, parties, etc. So I went to Pinterest, and.. I guess I'm hooked.  I like it that I can make "boards" so my pictures are organized.  Now, I won't have tons of pictures in my PC and my PC's memory will be allocated for work and photos from my camera. :)

The photo above is a photo I "pinned" from Color Collective, a really great source for color combination inspiration

Also, another great feature of Pinterest is it links back to the original source.  No need for me to memorize or copy the link of the source.  I respect copyright and a person's creativity, and I hope everyone respects it too.

Pinterest is a thrifty way of having fun, and getting inspired.

Happy weekend!

Gear Swap @ The Outpost

Hi! I'm inviting everyone, especially those from Cebu and those outdoorsy folks to drop by, and visit The Outpost this Sunday, at 6PM, for an outdoor gear swap. Just Got Lucky Shop will be participating and selling clothes fit for the outdoors (or if not fit for the outdoors, at least clothes that would make your outdoor trips cute) :) Hope to see you there!

Last Thursday, I got invited to the launch of Beauty and Butter's branch in Cebu -- at SM Northwing, near Forever Flawless.  I am admittedly not a fan of mani/pedi because (a) I don't want another person poking into my hands/feet, (b) it takes too long, and (c) I don't want to spend money just having my nails cleaned.  I can very well do them myself.  But then, Mac invited me and I wanted to see her and catch up.  So there I am. :)

To say I'm sold is an understatement.  I tried the hand paraffin and it was hot! :) But very relaxing afterwards, esp. if you're like me who spend most of my waking hours typing words in a computer.  The staff was very friendly.  The lady who attend to me had very soft and gentle hands I could not feel anything.  Of course I was already very tired [see picture above], and I felt like sleeping all throughout.  And they use top-quality organic products. [I super laaav et!]  Thanks to Mac and Kwey.

Two Favorites

Scott Schuman (thesartorialist.blogspot.com) and Garance Doré (garancedore.fr) are fashion bloggers, and they are very much in love.

Last fall, they moved into a big, long apartment in the Village, the kind with one wall of exposed brick and two adjacent bedrooms in the back, one of which is for Schuman’s two young daughters from the marriage that ended not long before Doré began to appear on his website.

The first big thing the couple bought together was a Chesterfield sofa—brown leather, with lots of buttons—and they were sitting on it one afternoon, describing how they met at Paris Fashion Week. It was, Schuman says, four years ago.

“Can I tell the story?” Doré says. She is wearing a denim work shirt (his), navy-blue pants (“We bought them at Céline in Rome,” he says. “They look really great”), and ballet flats with a leopard print.
