Nature Park

During the Sinulog weekend, I asked my boyfriend to go with me to Argao, to escape the Sinulog crowd. You see, the Sinulog crowd is not just an ordinary crowd -- it is a party crowd, it is a crowd where no one minds who you are. It is a huge crowd, and as reported by the news, the crowd at yesterday's Mardi Gras reached 3.5 million, almost double the crowd last year. Last year, we were stuck -- literally, stuck, we couldn't move -- at one place, at the place where the jeepney we rode dropped us. So, after 14 years, I don't want to brave the Sinulog crowd anymore. Though my heart and my spirit are with the Cebuanos celebrating the feast, I no longer want to be there. Because as much as it is fun, it is also very tiring.

So, we went to Argao before the crowd starts gathering on the streets and returned to the city after the crowd has gone to sleep.

One of the places we visited in Argao was their nature park, a project of the local Department of Environment and Natural Resources. At the gate, it looks very small, but inside you'll find a lot of things to do -- boat, feed the fishes and animals, eat snacks, play games with the giant chessboard or tumbling blocks, walk their hanging bridge. Entrance fee was only P5!

  1. Yep, Sinulog is really crowded, I agree, it's not just an ordinary crowd. Anyways, good for you that you were able to escape the street party and all the crowd. Sad to say, I wasn't able to go home for Sinulog. I never thought Argao has a nature park something like this. take care
